The Black Echo by Michael Connelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Welcome to the world of Harry Bosch. though not striking or particularly outstanding at first read, the book and the series will only get better with each read. The characters and setting will slowly but surely encompass you, bringing you into the world of Bosch as on paper, all in the brilliance of Michael Connelly.
The Dark Echo is a real gem. The book and the characters takes some time to warm up to, as the mood and setting of the book isn't those of the attention grabbing, needless blabber type. But fret not, as things heats up, readers find themselves immerse in Los Angeles as from the writings of Michael Connelly.
The arc of the case and the characters are not only unpredictable but deeply convincing. Every action is credible, each move plausible. Though the story was a little draggy initially, it was still able to progress timely and satisfyingly to give an ending that was emotional and apt, though a little sad.
